Friday Lecture Programme

All talks take place in the Southwold Methodist Church Hall at 2.30 in the afternoon, except for The President’s Evening, which is at 7.30 p.m. on 24th May 2019.

Friday, 28th September at 2.30 p.m. The Life and Art of Sir Alfred Munnings

An illustrated talk by Dr. Bill Teatheredge, Curator at The Munnings Art Museum.


Friday, 26th October at 2.30 p.m. Taking Stock – David Gillingwater

David will present an illustrated talk and review of his recent work in oils.


Friday, 30th November at 2.30 p.m. Katherine Hamilton – Recent Work

Katherine is making a welcome return visit to talk about her recent travels and work.


Friday, 25th January at 2.30 p.m. Painter’s Surgery with Jack Stephenson


Friday, 22nd February at 2.30 p.m. The Watercolours of Eric Ravilious – an illustrated talk by Jeremy Greenwood.


Friday, 29th March at 2.30 p.m. Two Contemporary Watercolour Painters – an illustrated talk by Andrew Pitt.

Life Drawing

This weekly group meet in Reydon Village Hall, at 4.30 p.m. for a 2 hour session on Thursdays. They will resume activities after the summer break on 20th September. Open to all Art Circle members - £45 for 10 sessions or £7.50 per session. Contact the organiser, Lesley Fisher on 01502 724638 for more details.

Portrait Group

The Portrait Group meet every Monday at 10 a.m. in the Guide Hut in Gautley Road, Southwold. The next session is on 17th September. £3 per 2 hour session. There is no need to register; just turn up if interested.
