Spring
Workshop
(At Reydon
Village hall. Members should have received their application
forms.)
Saturday
10 May - 10am - 4pm - The
topic is 'Texture in Landscape using mixed media of water-based
paint'. The well known local artist, Mary Spicer will be taking
the workshop and will show us how to use acrylic paint, acrylic
ink and watercolour together to achieve texture. Members taking
part should bring sketches or photos of lanscape to try out
Mary's methods. A detailed list of what you need to bring
will be sent after you sign up. Cost is £20 for the
day. Please send a cheque for this amount made out to Southwold
Art Circle, to Jane Pollock, Almond Tree Cottage, The Street,
Easton, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 0ED and include a SAE.
Weekly
untutored still-life group
Mondays
from 10 am at Reydon Village hall. A different still-life
every week. Members may just turn up! Outdoor painting to
be arranged, weather permitting, during May and through the
summer.

Learning to Draw - a
lecture by Ian Simpson in which he examines
drawing as a response to the visual world. Following the changeover
to BST, please note that this talk will be at 7.30pm in the
Methodist Hall, East Green. Members free, non-members £2
at the door.

President's
Evening at 7.30pm. Methodist Church Hall.
Jack Stephenson
will introduce us to the little known "petit maitre"
Antonio Mancini - Italian Impressionist - 1852-1930.
Jack describes him as "an amazing and quite
unique artist; well worth a viewing". He will talk about
the artist's life and work and explain how he discovered him.
