Chris
Sinclair obtained N.D.D. in painting at Wimbledon School
of Art in 1954. Then Slade Diploma in Fine Art in painting
and etching. He worked in animation for several years,
then taught art in Suffolk schools until 1975 when he
became a freelance painter and etcher specializing in
local landscapes. He has shown in many galleries throughout
East Anglia and had a one-man show at St Catherine's
College, Cambridge in 1989.
In
1990, like his wife, Wendy,
he became a founder member of the newly formed Suffolk
Group and has shown with them every year since.
The
Sinclairs have taken part in the Suffolk 'Open Studios'
programme and have shown in various venues around the
country. |

As
well as painting in watercolours, pastels and oils,
Chris produces prints by etching on copper plates using
an ancient spider-wheel press. Lino prints in colour
and, recently, wood cuts, are also made using the press.
Chris makes the frames for all his own and Wendy's work.
