Brian Bennett

Born 1941. Lived in Hounslow, Middlesex until 1997, then moved to Suffolk. Became an artist in his mid-thirties and is self-taught. Paints in oils, acrylics and watercolour.

1987 winner of Ealing Open Art Competition. Exhibited widely in London boroughs and Suffolk.

Paintings explore surface textures - cracked wood, rusting metal, peeling paint - on details of boats, doors and windows of barns, fishing sheds and, recently, old petrol pumps.
