Having spent
three decades as a writer in advertising, PR and
technical journalism, I started painting in 1991
as an antidote to the verbal and a chance to exercise
the other half of my brain.
I
enjoy painting 'the particular', whether portraits
or places. I find myself drawn especially to buildings
which exhibit the effects of successive layers
of history with evidence of alternating periods
of human attention and neglect.
I
paint in watercolours, oils and pastels and one
day fully intend to get it right. |
